Four Dead as Robbers Strike Abuja Supermarket, CBN Staff Among Victims

Armed robbers struck Abdullahi Supermarket in One Man Village, near Mararaba, claiming the lives of four customers, one of whom was identified as Daniel Adefemi Okunade, a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) staff.

The assailants, described as daredevil criminals, executed the robbery in under two minutes, during which Okunade, also known as the choir master of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in One Man Village, was shot in the head and died instantly. Three other victims, yet to be identified, met a similarly gruesome fate.

According to an eyewitness, Okunade had stopped by the supermarket to purchase bread for his family when the robbers entered the busy store, leaving a trail of tragedy behind.

Surprisingly, Okunade’s Toyota Venza car parked outside the supermarket remained untouched by the perpetrators. The late CBN staff was reportedly returning from work when he fell victim to the brutal attack.

As of now, the identities of the three other victims remain unknown, adding to the somber atmosphere in the area. Police operatives from New Nyayan Divisional Police Station have moved the corpses to the Mararaba Medical Center mortuary.

Despite the incident, the police have not released any official information to the public. The community is grappling with shock and grief as numerous sympathizers, including church members, gather at the late CBN staff’s residence to express condolences to his grieving family. The tight-knit community remains on edge following this tragic incident.
