“Forgive My False Allegations” – Halima Abubakar Apologizes to Apostle Suleman
Nigerian actress Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, for making defamatory statements about him. The apology, shared on her Instagram account, comes after years of controversy between the two.
In her statement, Abubakar admitted that the allegations she made were “false and hurtful” and expressed deep regret for the pain caused. She sought forgiveness from Apostle Suleman, his wife, and his family, acknowledging that her actions were driven by poor judgment.
“I acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and offer my sincere apology,” Abubakar wrote. “After deep reflection and in order for my conscience to be in accord with God, I have realized the harm, pain, and distress my lies caused.”
The actress had previously accused Apostle Suleman of having a romantic relationship with her, which escalated in 2023 when she claimed to have been pregnant with his child three times. The allegations led to a legal battle, culminating in an April 2024 ruling by a federal high court in Abuja, which ordered Abubakar to pay N10 million in damages for defamation and cease any further defamatory statements.
In her apology, Abubakar emphasized her regret, pleading for forgiveness. “I humbly ask for your forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm I caused. Please, find a place in your heart to forgive me.”
Apostle Suleman has yet to publicly respond to the apology.
