First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Embrace Agriculture for National Development
In a recent meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, emphasized the importance of agricultural involvement for national advancement. Addressing the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, Senator Tinubu highlighted agriculture as pivotal for improving citizens’ livelihoods.
Senator Tinubu commended the leadership decisions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating they are geared towards fostering a more respected Nigeria. She stressed the necessity for Nigerians to exhibit greater accountability in managing national resources.
The First Lady underscored the significance of inspiring youth to prioritize national unity over regional affiliations. To this end, through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), she announced initiatives such as the #ONE NIGERIA/Unity Fabric project, aimed at encouraging youth to embrace a collective Nigerian identity.
Senator Tinubu also addressed humanitarian concerns, stating that the RHI has initiated monthly Food Outreach Programs to support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Persons with Disabilities. Despite challenges, she reaffirmed her commitment to serving the people.
Responding to Senator Tinubu’s remarks, UN Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed emphasized the importance of increased funding towards youth, women, and girls’ empowerment initiatives.
The call to action from Senator Oluremi Tinubu echoes a broader narrative of harnessing agricultural potential to drive socio-economic development and foster national unity in Nigeria.
