Fire Breaks Out at MMIA Terminal 1 in Lagos
A fire broke out on Thursday afternoon at Terminal 1 of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, damaging part of the facility and destroying property.
The incident affected a section of the terminal, though the full extent of the damage has not yet been disclosed. The cause of the fire remains unknown as investigations are expected to commence.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria were deployed to the scene and worked to contain the blaze.
Margaret Adeseye, Controller-General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that no casualties were recorded.
Airport operations in other sections of the facility were not immediately reported as disrupted. Further details are expected as authorities assess the situation.
