FG Suspends Recruitment into Immigration, Fire Service, Civil Defence, Others; Sets New Date to Reopen Portal
The Federal Government has temporarily suspended the online recruitment portal for paramilitary agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB). The portal, which has seen a high volume of applications since the recruitment exercise began on July 14, will reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the Secretary to the Board, Major General AM Jibril (retd.), said the suspension was necessary to improve system efficiency and ensure a smooth, transparent recruitment process.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” Jibril stated.
He also expressed appreciation for the strong interest shown by Nigerians in joining the paramilitary services, assuring applicants of a fair and merit-based selection process.
The suspension affects all recruitment into agencies under the CDCFIB, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service.
Applicants have been advised to closely monitor the recruitment portal and submit their applications promptly once the system is back online on July 21.
