Federal High Court Headquarters Loses Judge
The Federal High Court headquarters in Abuja has been thrown into a mourning mood following the sudden death of one of its Judges, Hon Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong.
Justice Mallong died on Sunday evening in Abuja in less than 48 hours after the court commenced yearly vacation for judges.
The Chief Registrar of the Court, Hassan Amida Sulaiman confirmed the death in a terse statement released on Monday.
The statement he personally signed read in part: “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our own, Hon. Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong, a Judge of the Federal High Court.
“Justice Mallong passed away on 30th July, 2023, unexpectedly after a brief illness in Abuja. We will miss him more than words can express.
“Funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public in due time.”
