FCT Police Commissioner Tunji Disu Speaks on Son’s Tragic Passing
FCT Police Commissioner Tunji Disu has expressed deep gratitude for the support and condolences his family has received following the tragic death of his adopted son, Adams. In a statement released on Sunday, Disu thanked family, friends, and well-wishers for their kindness, acknowledging the numerous calls, visits, and messages that have provided comfort during this painful time.
“We are truly grateful for the overwhelming love and support following the loss of our beloved son, Adams. Your calls, visits, and heartfelt messages have provided us with comfort and strength,” Disu said. He also extended appreciation for the thoughts and prayers shared with his family, emphasizing how much the support means to them in their period of mourning.
Adams, who was 33 years old, tragically lost his life in a car accident in Abuja on Monday. According to reports, he was driving alone in a BMW when the vehicle veered off the road, crashed into a ditch, and caught fire. Sources revealed that Adams was not Disu’s biological son but had been raised by the police commissioner since he was two years old. He had recently completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
The loss has been described as devastating by family members and those close to the police commissioner. Since the news broke, there has been an outpouring of condolences from colleagues, friends, and members of the public. Disu, who recently took over as head of the FCT Police Command, has remained private about his grief but took the time to acknowledge the support of those who have reached out to him and his family.
