FCT Police Busts Scheme as Resident Fakes Own Kidnapping for Fraudulent Gain
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended Nnamdi Agu for orchestrating a deceptive plot—faking his own kidnapping with the intention of defrauding his family members.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, issued a statement on Saturday night vehemently refuting claims of a kidnapping incident at the River Park Estate, Lugbe. Adeh clarified that, in reality, no kidnapping occurred in the estate, exposing Nnamdi’s attempt to exploit the situation.
According to the statement, Nnamdi Agu, a resident of Games Village, hatched a scheme to fabricate his own kidnapping in an elaborate effort to deceive his brother, who resides within the River Park Estate.
Adeh’s statement reads, “The FCT Police Command is aware of the news making rounds about an alleged kidnapping incident at River Park estate on Saturday and wishes to state that contrary to reports, nobody was kidnapped in River Park Estate.”
She continued, “One Nnamdi Agu ‘m’ of Games Village only faked his own kidnap in an attempt to defraud his brother who lives within the said Estate. The suspect is currently in police custody undergoing interrogation. While an investigation is still ongoing, further development would be communicated to the public.”
