FBI Releases Image of Suspect in Charlie Kirk Shooting, Offers $100K Reward

The FBI has released images of a person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Authorities are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect and have offered a $100,000 reward for credible information.

Officials say the individual, believed to be of college age, fled into a nearby neighborhood following the shooting on Wednesday. Investigators later recovered a high-powered Mauser 30-06 bolt-action rifle in the woods, along with a footwear impression and a forearm imprint thought to belong to the gunman. Surveillance footage appears to show the suspect running across a roof near the scene.

Jackie Kelly, spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed that more than 100 officers are involved in the ongoing search. Two people previously questioned by police have since been released, and a planned news conference was postponed due to what officials described as “rapid developments in our investigation.”

Kirk, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, was delivering a speech at UVU in Orem, Utah, when the gunman opened fire, sending students and staff into panic. He later died from his injuries. Trump confirmed that Kirk’s body will be flown to Arizona aboard Air Force Two and said he intends to posthumously award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The incident has reignited debates over political violence in the United States. Authorities continue to urge the public to remain calm while investigations are ongoing. “We need the public’s help. If you recognize the individual in the released images, contact us immediately,” the FBI said in a statement.
