“Fayose Has No Honour, Can’t Spell Politics” – Ojudu

Babafemi Ojudu, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has taken a swipe at former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, describing him as a man without honour who lacks basic political literacy. Speaking on Edmund Obilo’s State Affairs podcast, Ojudu recounted his 2011 senatorial election victory over Fayose and accused him of leveraging poverty and vote-buying to achieve political success.

Ojudu alleged that Fayose’s return to power after his impeachment was driven by hunger-induced votes, claiming that voters were swayed by small inducements such as food and money. He emphasized that his victory over Fayose, despite being outspent, reflected the people’s trust in his competence and values.

Ojudu used the episode to highlight what he sees as a troubling pattern of unqualified individuals attaining leadership positions, urging voters to prioritize competence and integrity in future elections.
