Even if you give Tinubu 100 years, he won’t know what to do with Nigeria – Franklyne Ogbunwezeh
In a recent interview on 90MinutesAfrica, Nigerian lawyer Franklyne Ogbunwezeh, based in Germany, sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu’s ability to lead the country, arguing that even a century in office wouldn’t help him govern effectively.
Speaking with host Rudolf Okonkwo, Ogbunwezeh expressed deep concerns about Tinubu’s handling of Nigeria’s pressing economic challenges, including skyrocketing inflation and the rapid decline of the naira. According to him, the president has failed to offer any meaningful solutions to stabilize the nation since taking office.
“President Tinubu does not have the capacity or competence to govern Nigeria. Even if you give him a hundred years, he won’t know what to do with the country,” Ogbunwezeh stated during the interview.
He further criticized the removal of the petrol subsidy, accusing the administration of not preparing any buffer plans to alleviate the resulting financial burdens on Nigerians. Ogbunwezeh suggested that the decision had opened the door for exploitation by individuals intent on profiting from the country’s struggles.
Ogbunwezeh also downplayed the potential impact of a rumored cabinet reshuffle, stating that without a clear governing strategy from Tinubu, such moves would make little difference. He argued that the country’s leadership is largely driven by self-interest, rather than a focus on the public good.
