Eucharia Anunobi Takes Apostle Psalm Okpe to Court Over Alleged Sex Claims

Veteran Nollywood actress and pastor, Eucharia Anunobi, has filed a legal petition against Apostle Psalm Okpe, founder of the US-based Fresh Oil Ministry International Church, following the circulation of an audio recording in which the cleric allegedly claimed to have had a long-term sexual relationship with her.

The recording, which surfaced online in recent days, reportedly captured a phone conversation between Apostle Okpe and another cleric, Pastor Martin. In the audio, Okpe allegedly stated that he dated Anunobi and had sexual relations with her for over five years.

Reacting through a series of videos posted on her Instagram page, Anunobi dismissed the claims, describing them as false, defamatory and harmful to her personal integrity and ministerial calling. She disclosed that she has instructed her lawyers to commence formal legal action against Okpe.

According to Anunobi, petitions are being prepared for submission to the Nigerian Police Force as well as relevant U.S. security and immigration authorities. She said the action is aimed at compelling Okpe to substantiate his claims before the law.

The actress stated that the allegations have caused her emotional distress and accused the cleric of deliberately attempting to damage her reputation and ministry. She further alleged that Okpe had, over the years, threatened to destroy her ministry.

Anunobi also raised concerns about her safety, warning that Okpe should be held responsible for any harm that may come to her, her family, or her property, both within and outside Nigeria.

Addressing the substance of the allegations, Anunobi insisted that she has remained celibate since she was ordained into ministry nearly 14 years ago. She said she was willing to undergo medical examination to support her claim, maintaining that no man has had sexual relations with her during that period.

She acknowledged that Apostle Okpe played a role in her ordination and early ministerial journey but said she later disengaged from his ministry after what she described as troubling experiences. According to her, she left the ministry in 2015 after observing practices she considered unethical and inconsistent with her values as a preacher.

Anunobi further alleged that even after her departure, Okpe continued to misrepresent her as being affiliated with his ministry, which she said contributed to confusion among followers and the public.

She also rejected any suggestion that she could have been romantically involved with the cleric, insisting that the alleged relationship existed only in his imagination. While her response included strong language directed at Okpe, she maintained that financial records would show she supported his ministry rather than benefited personally from him.

In addition, Anunobi stated that although she has been courted and engaged on several occasions since entering ministry, none of those relationships involved sexual intimacy.

The actress said she has endured repeated attempts on social media to discredit her name and ministry but remains confident that those efforts will not succeed.

This development follows earlier reports that Apostle Okpe had allegedly issued an apology for his remarks, a claim Anunobi referenced during a TikTok Live session where she criticised the preacher and described the situation as an embarrassment.

As of the time of filing this report, Apostle Psalm Okpe has not publicly responded to the latest legal action announced by Anunobi.
