Estonia Opens Work Visa for Foreign Workers in Healthcare, Tech, Agric, Others
In a bid to address ongoing workforce shortages, Estonia has recently opened its doors wider for skilled foreign professionals by introducing work visas for 23 in-demand occupations spanning healthcare, technology, agriculture, and more.
Estonia, celebrated for its efficient work visa application process and high acceptance rates, stands out as an accessible hub for international job seekers. Notably, the country boasts a lower influx of visa applications compared to its global counterparts, enhancing its appeal to skilled workers seeking international opportunities.
Despite a slight dip in job vacancies, currently standing at 12,040 according to Statistics Estonia (an 8.7% decrease from the previous year), the nation grapples with persistent workforce shortages, particularly in critical sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, engineering, and technology.
The list of 23 sought-after professions for foreign skilled workers includes wood treaters, specialist medical practitioners, refuse sorters, physiotherapists, pharmacists, paper products machine operators, nursing professionals, mobile farm and forestry plant operators, mixed crop, and livestock laborers.
Other openings feature metal production process controllers, messengers, package deliverers, luggage porters, management and organization analysts, inland and coastal waters fishery workers, information and communication technology operations technicians, hunters and trappers, and healthcare assistants.
General medical practitioners, fishery and aquaculture laborers, electronics engineering technicians, dentists, crop farm laborers, chemical products plant and machine operators, and agricultural and industrial machinery mechanics and repairers are also among the roles available.
