EPL: SuperComputer Predicts Title Winners as Arsenal, Man City Score Key Wins
Opta’s SuperComputer has made Manchester City the clear favorite to win the Premier League title, following a series of pivotal matches over the weekend.
Manchester City secured a crucial 2-0 victory against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, solidifying their position at the top of the Premier League table. The win came just hours after Arsenal triumphed over Tottenham Hotspur with a narrow 3-2 victory in the North London Derby.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s hopes of closing the gap on the leaders were dealt a blow when they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham on Saturday. This result has drastically reduced their chances of contending for the title.
According to Opta’s title predictor, Manchester City’s odds of retaining the Premier League crown are now at 70%. Arsenal has a 30% chance of winning the title, while Liverpool’s chances are down to zero.
Looking ahead to the next round of fixtures, Liverpool will host Tottenham at Anfield, while Arsenal will welcome Bournemouth to the Emirates Stadium. Manchester City will face Wolves at the Etihad in Saturday’s late kick-off, aiming to extend their lead at the top.
The current title odds, based on expected goals (xG), are as follows:
Manchester City: 70%
Arsenal: 30%
Liverpool: 0%
As the Premier League season approaches its climax, these results and predictions set the stage for an exciting battle between Manchester City and Arsenal for the championship title.
