Enemies of Rivers Will Be Crushed in 2025; The Red Biro Is Ready – Gov Fubara
Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has declared his unwavering belief in God’s ability to protect the state and its people from adversaries in 2025. Speaking during a crossover church service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Opobo Town, Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Fubara emphasized that divine power will triumph over any challenges the state might face.
The service, held in the early hours of January 1, featured the governor leading a hymn that resonated with the congregation: “At the mention of your name (God), every knee shall bow. At the mention of your name, every tongue confess. That you are Lord, you are Lord, you are King, you are King of kings.” Fubara explained that the song symbolized the community’s trust in God and served as a call for resilience and faith as the New Year begins.
Expressing confidence in God’s continued protection, Fubara said, “The Red Biro is still filled. It is still here with me. Every plan of the enemy will continue to crash.” He extended his New Year wishes to the people, urging them to remain steadfast in their faith.
Bishop Emmanuel Oko-Jaja of the Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta, who officiated the service, reflected on the challenges of the previous year. He cited hardships such as conspiracy, economic struggles, health crises, and near-hopeless situations but reminded the congregation of God’s faithfulness in seeing them through. Oko-Jaja encouraged gratitude for divine blessings and assured attendees of continued victory and divine support in 2025.
Prayers were offered for the peace, unity, and progress of Rivers State, aligning with the government’s 2025 Budget of Inclusive Growth and Development. The midnight service ushered in the New Year with vibrant praise, worship, and celebratory shouts of “Happy New Year.”
The event was attended by notable figures, including the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo; Chief of Staff Dr. Edison Ehie; National Assembly members Hon. Awaji-Inombek Abiante, Hon. Boma Goodhead, and Hon. Anderson Igbiks; and the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja. Others present included Senator Adawari Michael Pepple, former Inspector-General of Police Sir Mike Okiro, and various government officials, elders, and stakeholders.
