#EndSARS: Under fire Buhari to Address Nigerians as Violence Rocks Many States
President Muhammadu Buhari will this evening address the nation following the outbreak of violence in many parts of the country.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, media outlets are enjoined to tune in by 7pm local time.
“Following detailed briefing by security chiefs on the current situation in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will make a national broadcast Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7pm.
“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.”
Buhari has in recent days came under fire for failing to address protesters who are demanding the reform of the police force. Things spiral out of control on Tuesday when soldiers shot at unarmed protesters in Lekki toll gate in Lagos state killing and injuring several people.
