Emirship Tussle: Kano State Government Issues Apology to NSA Nuhu Ribadu
The Kano State Government has issued a formal apology to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, regarding allegations of his involvement in the ongoing emirship tussle within the state.
The apology comes after the Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, had previously accused Ribadu of facilitating the return of the dethroned 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, to the state, as reported by Daily Trust.
Ribadu swiftly denied any involvement and had even threatened legal action against the deputy governor in response to the allegations.
However, in a recent development, Gwarzo retracted his accusation during a briefing with journalists at the Government House on Sunday. He publicly apologized to Ribadu, admitting that the government had been misled regarding the matter.
Gwarzo stated, “We investigated further and found out that we were deeply misled, and on this note, on behalf of the State Government, we wish to apologize to the NSA.”
