“Election Losers Behind Insecurity in Nigeria” – Daniel Bwala
In a recent interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization during the 2023 presidential election, made a bold assertion regarding the ongoing insecurity in Nigeria. Bwala suggested that certain politicians, particularly those who lost in the 2023 elections, are behind the current wave of insecurity in the country.
Bwala’s comments were made in response to former Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s claim that politicians are weaponizing insecurity for their own ends. He expressed agreement with Okonjo-Iweala, emphasizing that undemocratic elements, often linked to political figures who lost elections, are attempting to destabilize the country.
“Look at the last so-called protest conducted by the youngsters,” Bwala remarked. “You will see undemocratic elements trying to seize it… We are producing flags of Russia and singing, asking Russia to come and take over the country in order for the military to take over the government.”
Bwala argued that these actions are driven by politicians who seek to make the country ungovernable when they are not in power. He stressed, however, that this does not apply to all politicians, acknowledging the efforts of patriots who are working towards the nation’s betterment.
