Ekiti Kidnapping Crisis Deepens: Community Falls Short, Raises Only N450k Towards N100m Ransom
In the face of the Emure-Ekiti kidnapping ordeal, prospects dim for victims as the Eporo-Ekiti community manages to raise a mere N450,000 out of the demanded N100 million ransom. Reports from sources in Eporo-Ekiti indicate that, as of late yesterday evening, efforts to meet the kidnappers’ demand had faltered.
Tragically, out of the ten abducted victims, which included six school pupils, two teachers, a bus driver, and his conductor, seven hailed from the beleaguered Eporo-Ekiti community in the Emure Ekiti Local Government Area of Ekiti State. The community and the families of the victims find themselves grappling with a stark disparity between the funds raised and the exorbitant ransom demanded, leaving little hope for the captives’ swift release.
