DSS Dismisses 115 Officers, Warns Public Against Impostors
The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed 115 officers as part of an internal reform initiative and warned Nigerians to be wary of individuals posing as serving operatives.
In a statement posted Tuesday on X, the agency said the decision was part of its ongoing efforts to maintain integrity within the service. It noted that some of the dismissed officers were still impersonating DSS personnel to defraud members of the public.
“As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services, the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period,” the statement read. The DSS emphasized that citizens should avoid any official dealings with such individuals, referencing earlier warnings against two ex-staff members, Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who were reportedly arrested for fraudulent activities.
The agency confirmed that the full list of dismissed personnel has been published on its official website, dss.gov.ng, for public verification. It also encouraged Nigerians to use the provided communication channels for enquiries and complaints.
The DSS reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and transparency, adding that disciplinary measures would continue as part of its broader institutional reforms.
