Defense Chief Vows Retribution for Fallen Soldiers in Niger Ambush and Aircraft Crash
In a solemn gathering at the Military Cemetery in Abuja, the Defense Chief made a resolute promise to avenge the tragic deaths of soldiers who lost their lives in a recent ambush and subsequent aircraft crash in Niger State. The incident, which occurred on the Zungeru-Tegina road and the Chukuba area of Shiroro, resulted in the loss of 36 brave military personnel.
SK Blog had earlier reported the heart-wrenching details of the incident, highlighting how soldiers engaged in a battle against terrorists were mercilessly shot down, followed by the crash of a rescue aircraft attempting to assist the embattled troops.
The somber ceremony saw the burial of 20 of the fallen heroes, including soldiers like Private Habib Aliyu and Lance Corporal Nura Mohammed, who had dedicated their lives to the defense of the nation. Amid the presentation of the national flags to the bereaved families and the laying of wreaths on the graves, the Defense Chief, in his address, expressed the nation’s collective grief and unwavering determination to ensure their sacrifice was not in vain.
With a firm voice and steely resolve, the Defense Chief proclaimed that justice would be served for the fallen soldiers. He declared that those responsible for the attack, as well as those who continue to pose a threat to the country’s security, would be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice. His words echoed the sentiment of the entire nation: that those who sow havoc and destruction will not find refuge.
“We will hunt you down, we will bring you to justice. We will not relent until we get those causing havocs in the country,” declared the distraught Defense Chief, his resolve echoing the sentiments of every citizen seeking justice for the fallen heroes. As the nation mourns its brave defenders, the promise to avenge their deaths stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of resilience and determination that defines the nation’s armed forces and its people
