David Oyedepo Jnr: “My wife and I have never argued in 17 years of marriage”

David Oyedepo Jnr., son of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has revealed that he and his wife, Kemi, have never had a single argument since they got married 17 years ago.

The 42-year-old pastor shared this during a recent church service, attributing the peace in his marriage to a deliberate, scripture-based decision made at the start of their relationship.

According to him, his conviction was shaped while still in courtship after hearing a preacher teach that marriage inevitably brings “troubles in the flesh.” Oyedepo Jnr. said he rejected that interpretation of 1 Corinthians, calling it “a deception from the devil.”

“I was unsettled at first,” he explained. “But when I studied the scripture myself, I saw the truth clearly. Many times, deception comes from corrupting the truth. People say arguments are normal in marriage—it is a lie from hell.”

He revealed that from the early days of his courtship, he and Kemi agreed never to engage in arguments.

“Our wedding anniversary was in July, and in these 17 years of marriage, we have not had a single argument,” he said. “Not once have I raised my voice at her, or she at me. It has been our commitment from the beginning.”

Oyedepo Jnr. stressed that couples must base their marriages on biblical principles rather than societal expectations.
