Cyber bullying: “My Son Does Look Like Obasanjo” – Spiff Admits
In a recent interview on Channels TV, popular Nollywood actor Samuel Ajibola, known as “Spiff,” candidly acknowledged the striking resemblance between his son and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. Ajibola’s family had faced cyberbullying after sharing photos of their visit to Obasanjo in 2022, with netizens speculating that the ex-president might be the true father of Ajibola’s son.
Addressing the allegations, Ajibola clarified, “I won’t deny it; in that picture, my son does look like him there. But there are circumstances around it.” The actor explained that he maintains a mentorship relationship with Obasanjo due to his role as the Youth Ambassador to the Youth Development Centre of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
Ajibola elaborated on the misconceptions, stating, “It moved from that to, ‘Oh! He [Obasanjo] is the true father’ of my son.” He emphasized that the assumptions arose from a misinformed position, noting that the particular photo causing a stir captured a brief moment when his son, just waking up from sleep, had distinct eye bags, creating an uncanny resemblance to the former president.
Despite the resemblance in the photograph, Ajibola affirmed that it was merely a momentary snapshot and urged people not to jump to conclusions based on a single image.
