Civil Defence Officer Kills ex-Senatorial Candidate at APC Victory Party in Imo
The Senatorial candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the 2019 Imo North Senatorial District election, Ndubisi Emenike was on Sunday shot dead by his orderly, an operative of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 5pm during the victory party for the winner of the Okigwe North Federal Constituency rerun and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Miriam Onuoha in Umunachi in Isiala Mbano Local Government area of the state.
It was gathered that during the celebration, the NSCDC officer who shooting sporadically in the air mistakenly shot Emenike. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby St. Joseph’s Hospital Umunnachi after he lost consciousness. He was later taken to Federal Medical Centre in Owerri where he gave up the ghost.
The spokesman of the police in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu confirmed that the incident has been reported to the police.
The victory party came to an abrupt end after the incident.
