Chinedu Ikedieze Confirms Split from Nneoma Nwaijah, Introduces New Wife
Nollywood star Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, has confirmed his separation from Nneoma Nwaijah, his wife since 2011. The actor recently announced his new marriage to Stephanie Promise and celebrated the birth of their son.
Aki and Nneoma’s union began with a traditional marriage on November 26, 2011, in Obolo, Isiala Mbano, Imo State, followed by a white wedding on December 9, 2011, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God – Abundant Grace parish in Ogba, Lagos. The ceremony was attended by notable actors including Osita Iheme, Uche Jombo, Rita Dominic, and others.
The 46-year-old actor disclosed the split and his new marriage via Instagram, where he also celebrated Promise’s birthday. In his heartfelt post, Aki praised Stephanie, expressing gratitude for their life together and their three children.
“My world, my love,” Aki wrote. “On this particular day, I want to celebrate not only your birthday but the incredible journey we’ve been on together. You have blessed our lives with two beautiful girls who light up our world, and now, we have been gifted with a precious baby boy.”
Despite the announcement, Aki did not specify when his first marriage ended or when he remarried. He described Stephanie as his partner, best friend, and the love of his life, and shared his joy over the arrival of their son, Chidubem Ivan Chinedu Ikedieze.
In August 2023, Aki spoke about his decision to keep his family life private during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo. The actor, who gained fame alongside Osita Iheme in ‘Aki na Ukwa’, emphasized his desire to shield his family from the public eye to allow them normal lives.
“I have children, but I decided to put them aside because I’m the celebrity, they are not. I want them to be free because the moment everybody gets to know them, it will affect them. So, I hide them, even my wife, apart from our wedding announcement, so that she can go to market, do every other thing without much ardour,” he explained.
Chinedu Ikedieze, who made his Nollywood debut in 2000, has featured in numerous films, including Lagos Boys, Charge & Bail, Back from America, I’m in Love, Gabriel, Local Champion, Akpu-Nku, and Nwa Teacher.
