Champions League Playoffs: Real Madrid Draw Benfica as February Dates Are Set (Full List)

Real Madrid have been drawn against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League playoff round, setting up another meeting between the two sides this season.

The pairing was confirmed on Friday following the playoff draw conducted in Lyon. It comes just days after Benfica defeated Real Madrid 4–2 on Wednesday, a result that denied the Spanish club automatic qualification for the round of 16.

A total of 16 teams will contest the playoff phase, with only eight progressing to the last 16. Those eight will join Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, Sporting Lisbon, Bayern Munich and Tottenham, all of whom secured direct qualification.

The draw also produced several high-profile matchups across Europe. Monaco were paired with Paris Saint-Germain in an all-French tie, while Galatasaray will face Juventus. Borussia Dortmund were drawn against Atalanta, and Newcastle United will take on Qarabag.

Elsewhere, Club Brugge will play Atletico Madrid, Bodo/Glimt were drawn against Inter Milan, and Olympiakos will meet Bayer Leverkusen.

The first legs of the playoff ties will be played on February 17 and 18, with the return legs scheduled for February 25 and 26.
