Candidates must not get a free pass ahead of 2023 elections – Kuti
Whoever wins the 2023 election will have to deal with ISWAP, Terrorist Bandits, IPOB, Kidnappers, Fuel and Diesel Hike, Subsidy, Poverty, Unemployment, power supply issues, inflation, cost of living, ASUU strike etc etc.
We must seriously interrogate all those who aspire to lead so we don’t end up worse than where we are today.
Whoever deserves our vote must be able to clearly demonstrate that he has solid and REALISTIC ideas that can get us out of this mess.
Let us NOT give any candidate an automatic free pass because they are our candidate or cos they say all the right stuff.
I have observed most candidates say things like once we can get other sectors to flourish Nigeria will be ok. Or it is because the people are uneducated and poor that there is insecurity. Once we fix that then we are good.
The problem with all these primary school talk is that even if you give terrorists education and jobs will they accept it? How do you plan to create these jobs? While you are creating the jobs, what will the terrorists be doing?
Most terrorists already have access to 100’s of millions so these jobs will they really be acceptable?
There are deeper issues and we must not allow people gloss over the enormity of our challenges.
When they say they will fix Nigeria let’s ask them to tell us precisely HOW.
HOW will you stop ISWAP and other terrorists from coming into Abuja and Ondo or Delta or Anambra?
HOW will you stop them from attacking us on the highway and in trains?
HOW will you fix the power supply issues?
HOW will you rejig the economy?
HOW will you pay for all the things we need to turn the country around?
HOW will you end ASUU strike?
HOW LONG WILL THIS TAKE?
HOW? HOW? HOW?
