“By the End of Tinubu’s Tenure, Nigerians Will Have Reasons to Smile” – Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured Nigerians that they will appreciate the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s administration by the end of his first term.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new N5 Arterial Road from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3 in Abuja, Wike expressed confidence in the president’s commitment to tackling the nation’s economic and infrastructure challenges. He highlighted that Tinubu’s strategic policies would soon bear significant benefits for Nigerians, particularly in alleviating hunger and improving infrastructure.

Wike, who has been actively overseeing infrastructure projects in the FCT, urged citizens to continue supporting the government through prayers, adding that the administration’s Renewed Hope Initiative is set to improve the lives of Nigerians. “I assure you, by the end of President Tinubu’s administration, Nigerians will find reasons to smile,” Wike said. “These issues, such as hunger and suffering, have persisted for years, across various administrations.”

The minister commended the progress of the road construction initiatives in Abuja, noting that they have already created direct and indirect employment opportunities for hundreds of FCT residents. He also pushed the Julius Berger Construction Company to fast-track the completion timeline for the N5 road project from 18 months to 14 months, encouraging swift delivery with the promise of further contracts for timely performance.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, represented by Senate Committee on FCT Chair Ibrahim Bomai, praised the FCTA’s progress on infrastructure, pointing out that enhanced road networks are critical to socio-economic growth in the capital.

Wike revealed that 70 percent of the payment for the awarded projects has already been made upfront to Julius Berger, underscoring his confidence in the company’s capacity to deliver high-quality work on time.
