Buhari appoints Effiong Okon Akwa as Acting NDDC Managing Director
President Muhammadu Buhari has following the court ruling on the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, fired Kemebradikumo Pondei as the interim NDDC Chairman and replaced him with Effiong Okon Akwa.
Effiong Okon Akwa, who served as the acting executive director, Finance and Administration of the Commission, will be the interim administrator until the forensic audit is complete.
The NDDC was in recent times the epicentre of a major scandal involving Minister of the Niger Delta, Joi Nunieh the former MD of the NDDC, and Pondei the interim managing director over the disappearance of ₦8 billion.
