The Nigerian Navy has sounded the alarm regarding a deceptive supplementary list circulating for Batch 35 of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS).
The spurious list, distributed via WhatsApp groups between November 17 and November 20, 2023, has prompted an official response from the Navy, denouncing it as the handiwork of “mischievous and unscrupulous elements” aiming to mislead the public.
Fake Supplementary List
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Navy clarified that the said list did not emanate from their official channels. They further emphasized that NNBTS Batch 35 has already commenced training, rendering the circulated supplementary list entirely false.
“For the avoidance of doubt, NNBTS Batch 35 has since resumed training, and the fake supplementary list of names DID NOT originate from the Nigerian Navy,” asserted the Navy in their official statement.
While cautioning the public to disregard the fraudulent list, the Nigerian Navy issued a stern warning to fraudsters and mischief-makers, urging them to refrain from engaging in such deceptive activities.
