“Believe Him at Your Own Peril” – Bwala Dismisses El-Rufai’s Claims
President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has dismissed claims made by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in a recent television interview.
Bwala accused El-Rufai of making incoherent and disorganized statements intended to distort the truth.
During an interview on *Arise Television* on Monday evening, El-Rufai criticized Tinubu and his administration, claiming that the president, not the National Assembly, was responsible for blocking his ministerial appointment.
In August 2023, the Senate withheld El-Rufai’s confirmation as a ministerial nominee, citing security reports from the State Security Service. However, El-Rufai dismissed the security concerns as a mere excuse. “Since then, has anyone released that report telling us the security issue?” he asked.
El-Rufai also expressed uncertainty about supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, arguing that the president was failing to meet expectations in leading Nigeria forward.
Reacting to the interview, Bwala, in a post on X, accused the former governor of attempting to rewrite history.
“El-Rufai’s interview on Arise News was full of word salad—jumbles of incoherent and disorganized statements aimed at distorting the truth to reshape history,” Bwala wrote.
He further criticized El-Rufai’s political philosophy, stating, “If it is not about him, then everybody must be a victim of his ambition. Believe him at your own peril.”
