Bandits Retreat as Troops Intensify Offensive in Zamfara

In a series of recent operations, troops from Operation Haderin Daji (OPHD) have launched a significant attack on bandit camps across Zamfara State, forcing the bandits to retreat.

Reports indicate that the troops have been actively targeting the bandits’ hideouts through coordinated ground and air strikes. These strikes have focused on areas such as Bayan Ruwa and Bayan Dutsin Gidan-Kano, among other locations, leading to the destruction of several bandit camps.

The military operations have had a substantial impact on curbing banditry in areas like Zurmi, Kaura Namoda, Maradun, and Tsafe, significantly disrupting the bandits’ activities.

Sources confirm that the operations have resulted in the elimination of numerous high-profile bandit leaders, including Sani Dangote, Kachalla Chaki, and Lamo Saude, along with over 50 of their foot soldiers.

Zamfara State has been facing severe insecurity challenges for over a decade, leading to the loss of thousands of lives, widespread abductions, injuries, and extensive property damage.

In another successful operation, army troops recently disrupted bandit activities in the Anka/Bagega axis of Anka Local Government Area, where the bandits had blocked a road. The bandits, unable to withstand the military pressure, retreated to the forest with various degrees of injuries.
