In a tragic incident, bandits unleashed violence in Uguwan Dankali, a community in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the death of four individuals and injuries to four more. The incident occurred on Friday, and the details were confirmed by ASP Mansir Hassan, the police spokesman in Kaduna State, on Sunday.
Upon receiving a distress call, a rapid joint response team composed of the police, military personnel, and civilian Joint Task Force promptly pursued the fleeing bandits. A fierce exchange of gunfire followed, forcing the bandits to abandon five victims they had previously kidnapped.
The rescued victims, as well as those injured during the altercation, were swiftly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
In a significant breakthrough, the police apprehended a suspected bandit believed to be connected to the attack on Uguwan Dankali. During his arrest, the suspect was found in possession of multiple pieces of military woodland camouflage attire.
An ongoing investigation is underway, with authorities diligently working to capture the remaining fleeing bandits. Kaduna State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Garba, expressed his condolences to the families affected by the tragic attack.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing security challenges faced by communities in Kaduna State, with law enforcement agencies and security forces continuing to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the state.
