Bala, Makinde, PDP Leaders at Appeal Court Over Party Leadership Dispute
Senior figures in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including National Chairman Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, were at the Court of Appeal in Abuja for a hearing tied to the party’s ongoing leadership dispute.
They appeared alongside members of the National Working Committee (NWC) for the scheduled appeal on the party’s leadership status.
The PDP has been divided for months between two blocs — one aligned with several PDP governors and another linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The disagreement has spilled into the courts and triggered administrative actions within the party.
The conflict led to the police sealing the party’s national secretariat. Both sides have since announced expulsions and the dissolution of state party structures associated with their rivals.
