In a scandal that has rocked Equatorial Guinea, a leaked video showing the wife of Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the recently dismissed Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), in an intimate encounter with another man, has gone viral on social media, sparking public outrage and controversy.

The footage, which surfaced online over the weekend, was initially shared by social critic Martins Ortse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, on Instagram. Ortse posted screenshots from the video, which rapidly circulated, drawing widespread attention and commentary. “Just when I thought the drama surrounding this Equatorial Guinea scandal was over, things got even more shocking,” Ortse remarked, adding that the video depicted Engonga’s wife in a compromising situation with another man.

This latest scandal follows recent accusations against Engonga himself, who was reportedly found in possession of around 400 explicit videos involving multiple women during an ongoing fraud investigation. Authorities seized the videos as part of a probe into his alleged involvement in financial misconduct, adding another layer to the public’s scrutiny of his personal and professional life.

The situation has drawn the attention of high-level officials in Equatorial Guinea. First Lady Constancia Mangue Obiang voiced her anger and concern, condemning the incident during a meeting with Prime Minister Manuel Osa Nsue. In her remarks, Mrs. Obiang emphasized the importance of protecting the dignity and privacy of Equatoguinean women and urged the government to take action against breaches of digital privacy that compromise citizens’ personal lives.

In the wake of these revelations, Engonga was promptly dismissed from his position at ANIF and has since been taken into custody.
