A pair of twin brothers exchanged traditional marriage vows with a pair of twin sisters in a rare double wedding ceremony held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The wedding attracted attention for another unusual detail: one of the brothers, Taiwo, married a female twin also named Taiwo, while his twin brother, Kehinde, married her twin sister, Kehinde.
The couples held their traditional engagement ceremony on Friday, June 19, ahead of their white wedding on Saturday, June 20.
Sharing photos from the engagement on their joint Instagram page, the grooms, Oguntoye Kehinde Oladele and Oguntoye Taiwo Oye, expressed gratitude to God and everyone who celebrated with them.
"Twins wed twins!!! Yesterday's traditional wedding was simply amazing! We are grateful to God and everyone who celebrated with us.
"Today is the grand finale as the most famous twins in African tourism say 'I Do'!
"All glory, honour, and adoration belong to God for making this day a reality," they wrote.
In another post, the brothers reflected on their journey to marriage, saying:
"Engagement done and dusted! What started as a dream is now a testimony. Thankful for love, family, friends, and God's endless grace. Here's to forever!"
Photos from the traditional wedding have since circulated widely on social media, with friends, relatives and well-wishers congratulating the couples and describing the union as a rare and memorable celebration.
