A trailer fell from the Nkpor flyover on Saturday and crashed onto the road below near the New Parts Market in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The incident caused panic among traders, motorists and commuters in the busy commercial area. A parked shuttle bus was damaged in the crash, but no deaths or injuries were reported.

Witnesses said the trailer plunged from the bridge and landed close to pedestrians, traders and moving vehicles, narrowly avoiding a more serious accident.

Business activities were briefly disrupted as residents and road users gathered at the scene. The owner of the damaged shuttle bus was reported to have escaped unharmed.

Following the incident, the Mayor of Idemili North Local Government Area, Stanley Nkwoka, visited the crash site to assess the situation.

Nkwoka confirmed that no casualties were recorded and expressed relief that those in the area at the time of the crash were not harmed.

He urged motorists, particularly operators of heavy-duty vehicles, to comply with road safety regulations to reduce the risk of similar incidents.

The mayor also reaffirmed the local government's commitment to public safety and emergency response across the council area.
