The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed reports claiming it sold 69 nomination forms to Rabi’u Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 elections, describing the allegation as unfounded and inconsistent with its internal procedures.
National Chairman of the party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, addressed the issue on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television Morning Show, where he responded to questions surrounding the claim.
The allegation suggested that Rabi’u Kwankwaso, who is linked to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, acquired multiple nomination forms from the PRP in Kano as part of an alleged attempt to influence the party’s structure ahead of the polls.
Baba-Ahmed rejected the claim, stating that no such transaction occurred and that the party does not issue nomination forms through state-level arrangements.
He explained that all nomination forms are distributed from the national secretariat in Abuja, adding that the individual who made the allegation is not recognised by the party.
He said: “This is complete fiction. The state chairman in Kano has already issued a statement clarifying that it is false. There is no way Kwankwaso could have bought 69 forms from the PRP in Kano. We do not sell forms in Kano; they are sold from Abuja.”
Baba-Ahmed further noted that the party has already concluded its primary elections, stressing that candidates across states, including Kano, participated through the official process.
He maintained that Kwankwaso has no formal association with the PRP and did not obtain any nomination documents from the party at any stage of the process.
