The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will remain in office until 2031, saying God will continue to guide his administration in addressing Nigeria's challenges and advancing national development.
Umahi made the remarks on Thursday during an inspection of ongoing bridge projects in Lagos State, including the Carter Bridge, where reconstruction is expected to begin next week.
According to the minister, Tinubu's administration will continue to receive divine support in tackling key national issues, particularly insecurity.
*"The same God that brought him is going to be there to solve all the problems,"* Umahi said, while urging Nigerians to support the Federal Government's efforts to improve security across the country.
He said every government faces challenges and that leaders have a responsibility to confront them whenever they arise.
"There is no leader who will not want his reign to be peaceful, but when crises come, the leader must confront them. That is exactly what we are doing," he said.
Umahi added that regardless of the causes of the country's security challenges, he believes Tinubu will receive the wisdom and strength needed to overcome them and address other national issues.
The minister also expressed confidence that the current administration would complete all the projects it has initiated.
"Your hands that have started this will complete it," he said, adding that the government believes Tinubu's leadership continues to enjoy divine favour.
Speaking on the Carter Bridge project, Umahi disclosed that reconstruction of the bridge is expected to be completed within three years.
"It is within our five-year plan," he said.
