Army Reacts to Explosion Outside Abuja Cantonment
The Nigerian Army on Monday reassured residents of the Federal Capital Territory following an early morning explosion at a bus stop near the Mogadishu Cantonment along the Abuja-Nyanya Road.
Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion, which occurred in front of the well-known military facility, caused panic as commuters and bystanders fled the scene in fear. Some accounts suggested a suspected suicide bomber may have been involved and was killed in the blast.
In response, the Nigerian Army confirmed the incident via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating: “Explosion at Bus stop opposite Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja. Situation Under Control. Details Later.”
The Army emphasized that the situation has been contained and there is no cause for alarm.
