Ariwoola a Paragon of Integrity, Dedication — Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, praised the outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as a paragon of integrity and dedication. Wike’s remarks came during the public presentation of Ariwoola’s autobiography, Judging with Justice, held in Abuja on Thursday.

Wike lauded Justice Ariwoola’s distinguished career, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the rule of law and his profound impact on Nigeria’s legal landscape. He described Ariwoola’s journey—from his beginnings at the bar to his tenure as Chief Justice—as a testament to perseverance, brilliance, and a relentless pursuit of justice.

“This occasion celebrates not just a book but a life devoted to justice, fairness, and equity,” Wike noted. “Justice Ariwoola has shaped the practice of law in Nigeria in ways that will resonate for generations.”

Wike highlighted Ariwoola’s notable contributions, including his role in securing a 300 percent increase in judges’ salaries, a move aimed at reinforcing the independence of the judiciary. He also commended Ariwoola’s efforts in improving the welfare of judges through enhanced housing facilities.

“Chief Justice Ariwoola’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing the judiciary,” Wike said. “His contributions reflect a deep commitment to ensuring that justice prevails and the judiciary remains robust and independent.”
