APP Maintains Amaewhule, 26 Others Remain Sacked, Vows to Appeal Court Ruling

The Action People’s Party (APP) has announced plans to challenge a recent Federal High Court ruling that dismissed its suit seeking the removal of pro-Nyesom Wike lawmakers from the Rivers State House of Assembly.

During a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Friday, APP’s State Legal Adviser, Henry Ekine, reaffirmed the party’s stance, insisting that despite the court’s decision, the party still considers Martin Amaewhule and other lawmakers dismissed.

Ekine emphasized that the court’s ruling is not the final say on the matter. “The judgement delivered by Justice Peter Lifu today does not fundamentally change the composition of the Rivers State House of Assembly from our perspective,” Ekine stated.

The APP also urged its members to remain calm, assuring them that the party’s legal team will review the judgement and take necessary steps to appeal. “We believe the appropriate steps will be taken after a thorough review of the court’s decision,” Ekine added.

Despite the case being dismissed, Ekine highlighted that the court recognized the APP’s legal right to file the suit, encouraging party members to stay hopeful as the legal process continues.
