APC Crisis: Oshiomhole’s Camp Suffers Setback as Presidency Says Buhari Will Attend Thursday’s NEC Meeting Convened By Giadom
The Presidency has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari will be attending the National Executive Council (NEC), of the All Progressives Congress (APC), slated for Thursday by the faction of the party led by acting National Chairman, Victor Giadom.
In a statement issued via Twitter by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Shehu Garba, the decision to attend the meeting was based on legal advice he received.
“The President has received very convincing advice on the position of the law as far as the situation in the party is concerned and has determined that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman.”
“Because he will always act in accordance with the law, the President will be attending the virtual meeting Giadom called for tomorrow afternoon”, Garba said.
The development is a huge setback to the faction of the party led by Hillard Eta, that is loyal to the suspended National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
