APC Condemns Attack on State Secretariat Amid Ongoing Hunger Protests in Zamfara
In a troubling turn of events, the Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned an attack on its state secretariat in Gusau. The incident occurred on Monday when protesters, described by the APC as hoodlums, forcefully broke into the party’s office.
According to a statement released by Yusuf Idris, the State APC Publicity Secretary, the protesters caused significant damage to the APC Secretariat located on Sokoto Bye Pass Road. The attackers destroyed windows and doors, and stole various items including furniture, computers, and building materials.
Idris noted that this violence follows previous attacks linked to the same protests, including an assault on Sen. Sahabi Ya’u’s residence and an attempt to burn down the home of former Governor Bello Matawalle.
The APC has called on security agencies to take immediate action to apprehend those responsible for the attack and to ensure the protection of lives and property. The party also urged its members and supporters to maintain peace and adhere to the law amid the unrest.
