APC Chieftain Slams Tinubu, Asserts He Was Unprepared for Presidency

In a scathing critique of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Eze Chukwuemeka Eze expressed strong reservations about the president’s preparedness for the role. Eze dismissed the presidency’s excuses and blame game for the deepening economic challenges, asserting that the country is ensnared in a quagmire with no visible solution in sight.

According to Eze, the Nigerian economy is spiraling downward, witnessing a steady decline in the value of the Naira against other major currencies. This, he argued, has led to a surge in the prices of essential commodities, causing widespread hunger and starvation among Nigerians.

Despite Nigeria being labeled the poverty capital of the world, Eze questioned the support for Tinubu’s policies, emphasizing that even if the policies were theoretically sound, their implementation lacked the necessary foresight, resulting in a significant gap between intentions and actual outcomes.

Addressing recent comments by Vice President Kashim Shittima, who suggested a plot by defeated politicians to destabilize the nation, Eze dismissed the claims as inconsequential. He asserted that Tinubu’s primary focus was on becoming president, not on making a meaningful impact in Nigeria. Eze criticized the administration for allegedly neglecting the country’s economic concerns and shifting blame to those striving to contribute positively.

Highlighting the impact of insecurity on food production, Eze pointed out the challenges faced by farmers in both the North and South, particularly those in the North Central who have been displaced to IDP camps, leaving their farms in the hands of herders. He criticized the tendency to overlook insecurity as a primary factor in the current economic woes, emphasizing that expecting divine intervention without addressing human-induced problems is unrealistic.

Eze concluded by highlighting the consequences of President Tinubu’s decision to remove the oil subsidy without adequate study and provisions to mitigate the suffering of Nigerians. In his view, this decision, coupled with insecurity and inadequate policy implementation, has contributed significantly to the hardships faced by the nation.
