APC Chairman Criticizes Governor Fubara for Alleged Disrespect towards President Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Sim Fubara of disrespecting President Bola Tinubu amidst his ongoing dispute with the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Addressing a gathering of defectors at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt, the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman in the state, Tony Okocha, expressed disappointment in Governor Fubara’s failure to fulfill the commitments outlined by Tinubu during the peace deal with Wike.

Okocha emphasized, “It will amount to barefaced disobedience for Gov Siminalayi not to follow to the latter, all the 8 indices in the proclamation made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in response to the Rivers State political crisis.”

He specifically highlighted Governor Fubara’s alleged refusal to present the Rivers State 2024 budget to the properly constituted Rivers State House of Assembly and his perceived hesitance in conducting Local Government Elections. Okocha argued that these actions “smark of disrespect for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The APC Rivers chapter, asserting itself as “Mr President’s Party,” vehemently condemned what they view as an act of disobedience by Governor Fubara and issued a warning against potential repercussions stemming from such actions.
