Anybody Advocating for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release Is a Sworn Enemy of This Country – Bashir Ahmad
Former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has stated that anyone calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), should be considered a sworn enemy of Nigeria.
Ahmad made this declaration in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, January 19, amid ongoing debates over Kanu’s prolonged detention.
Nnamdi Kanu was arrested in June 2021 under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Reports indicate that he was intercepted in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria in a controversial operation that drew international criticism. Since then, he has remained in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), facing charges of terrorism, treasonable felony, and incitement.
Despite multiple court rulings ordering his release, the Nigerian government has refused to free him, citing national security concerns.
