“Any Woman Who Puts a Password on Her Phone Is a Prostitute” – Lege Miami Sparks Outrage
Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed relationship expert, Lege Miami, has come under fire for controversial comments claiming that married women who use passwords on their phones are equivalent to “prostitutes” and should leave their marital homes.
In a widely circulated video, Lege asserted that while men are permitted to secure their phones and engage in extramarital affairs, women are not entitled to the same. He argued that any woman who keeps her phone private is unfit for marriage and should “pack her load and leave the house.”
“Any housewife who puts a password on her phone or uses a password to hide certain information on her phone is a prostitute,” he said. “Quote me anywhere. If a married woman can put a password on her phone, she is a prostitute.”
Lege’s statements have sparked swift backlash across social media, with many users—particularly women—condemning his views as deeply misogynistic and outdated. Critics argue that his remarks reinforce harmful double standards and promote toxic relationships under the guise of traditional values.
Despite the backlash, Lege remained firm in his stance, adding, “Your husband can cheat, but as a woman, you don’t have the right to cheat. That’s how to be a good and responsible wife.”
The actor recently hosted a singles matchmaking event in Lagos, further cementing his self-assigned role as a relationship advisor, though his latest comments have drawn more condemnation than counsel.
