Another Former Minister Resigns from the PDP
Bolaji Abdullahi, the former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a letter dated December 16, Abdullahi addressed his resignation to the PDP ward chairman in Ubadawaki, Kwara state, and confirmed the news to newsmen on Monday.
While Abdullahi has stepped away from the PDP, he has not yet decided which political party or platform he will align with in the future. He noted that his next steps would be determined by time and fate.
In his resignation letter, Abdullahi explained that his decision came after deep reflection. He stated, “I have had ample time to reflect, and I have come to the difficult conclusion that this is the only tenable option for me at this time.” He also expressed his gratitude to the PDP leadership for the opportunities he had to serve both the state and the country.
Abdullahi was the PDP candidate for the Kwara Central senatorial district in the 2023 elections but was defeated by Salihu Mustapha of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
