Anambra State Government Declares Female Lawyer Wanted for Brutalizing 11-Year-Old House Help

Anambra State, the State government has officially declared legal practitioner Adachukwu Okafor wanted for the alleged brutalization of her 11-year-old house-help, Happiness Nwafor.

Following a report by SaharaReporters on Monday, Anambra State Police initiated a manhunt for the fleeing lawyer accused of molesting young Nwafor. The incident, which occurred on February 7, sparked protests by women under the Umuada Awgu Progressive Association and Umuada Awgu Global.

Mrs. Okafor is said to have inflicted severe injuries on Happiness using a hot knife and an electric iron. Responding to the outcry, the Ministry of Women Affairs, led by Mrs. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has offered a N2 million bounty for information leading to Okafor’s capture.

Now, the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, through Commissioner Ify Obinabo, has officially declared Adachukwu Okafor wanted. In a statement, Commissioner Obinabo announced that the State government, in collaboration with the Federal government, promises a handsome reward for anyone providing valuable information leading to the suspect’s arrest.

Happiness Nwafor, who was rescued by Commissioner Obinabo, revealed the harrowing abuse she endured, stating that her mistress used various weapons on her within just two weeks of her stay. The Commissioner, informed of the incident by Defend Your Rights Foundation, has vowed to exert every effort to apprehend the suspect and bring justice to the victim.
